What To Expect - Jerusalem and Bethlehem Private Tour

Begin your Jerusalem and Bethlehem private tour atop the Mount of Olives, an ancient Jewish cemetery with views across the Old City and Temple Mount. Continue to visit the garden of Gethsemane alongside the Church of All Nations. In the Kidron Valley, you will see the tombs of Ben Hazir, Yad Avshalom and the presumed tomb of Zechariah. Next, visit Mount Zion and the Dormition Church. The Coenaculum or the Upper Room is believed to be where the last supper took place. Discover the Tomb of David, which is covered in a drape and embroidered with his various attributes.

Enter the Old City via the Zion Gate and walk through the Armenian quarter. Continue along the Byzantine Cardo, the main thoroughfare in biblical times, which today houses modern shops selling Judaica. Take some time to soak in the atmosphere at the Kotel, the Western Wall and then walk along the Via Dolorosa, following the Stations of the Cross and finish up at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, built over the site of Jesus’s crucifixion and home of his tomb. Enjoy the markets and alleys before driving to Bethlehem where you will transfer from your personal guide to a local guide.
After a short walk across Manger Square, stop at the Church of the Nativity and see the original Byzantine mosaic floor. Nearby is the grotto of the nativity, the birthplace of Jesus, and an altar dedicated to the three wise men. Adjoining, but separated from here, the Grotto of the Nativity is the grotto attached to the Crusader Church dedicated to St. Catherine and the small Armenian chapel of the Kings (Magi). The final stop on your private tour to Jerusalem and Bethlehem is to enjoy the colorful panels on the walls of the tent shaped chapel depicting the early life of Jesus in the Shepherd's field.
