Tour Schedule

This tour takes you to the most sacred Christian destinations in the world – Jerusalem and Bethlehem. We start on Mount Scopus with a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Then we pass the Garden of Gethsemane, Church of All Nations and Kidron Valley to reach the Old City. In the Jewish Quarter, we visit the Byzantine Cardo and the Western Wall. Following the Via Dolorosa where Jesus walked bearing his cross, we reach the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This 12th-century church holds the site of the crucifixion at Calvary and the place of Christ’s burial tomb. Leaving Jerusalem we make our way to Bethlehem. We arrive at Manger Square and visit the Basilica of the Nativity that holds the Grotto of the Nativity where Jesus was born and see the original excavated mosaic from the 4th century when St’ Helen built the first church. If possible, we will visit chapel caves beneath the Church of Saint Catherine. As we leave Bethlehem we drive back to the hotels.

What To Expect

This Jerusalem and Bethlehem tour starts on  Mount Scopus with a breathtaking view of Jerusalem. You can see the Old City walls and beyond the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount. Then, we descend from Mt. Scopus to the Kidron Valley on the way to the old city we pass Christian landmarks like the Garden of Gethsemane and Church of All Nations.
The Jerusalem tour enters the Old City via the Zion Gate and continues through the Armenian Quarter arriving at the Jewish Quarter. Here we see the Byzantine Cardo, an excavated ancient street that was once a bustling thoroughfare. We stop at the Western Wall, the one part of the Second Holy Temple that survived destruction in 70 AD. After placing a prayer note at the wall we continue on to the Via Dolorosa. Following the path, Jesus took from his judgment to his crucifixion the Via Dolorosa leads us to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This ornate 12th-century church encompasses the last Stations of the Cross including Calvary where Jesus was crucified and the burial tomb where he was laid to rest. We leave the Old City via a typical Middle Eastern market.
The Jerusalem and Bethlehem tour moves on to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Christ. Arriving in Manger Square we enter the Basilica of the Nativity. This church was built above the Grotto of the Nativity where Christ was born. While in the church we see 12th-century mosaics as well as the original floor and mosaic from the first church that was built by St’ Helen in the 4th century. If possible, we also visit the adjacent Church of Saint Catherine where we descend to subterranean caves and see sacred tombs and chapels. We make our way back to Jerusalem passing the Church of the Angels in Shepherds Field and the Field of Ruth where King David’s great grandmother met Boaz.

    FAQ

    A day tour is a regular tour that we operate on specific weekdays. Tours depart from Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Herzliya and Netanya. You have the option to upgrade your tour and ensure for yourself a place in a small group (up to 19 people). The tour duration from pickup time is approximately 10 hours. You will be picked up from your hotel, and after the tour, you will be returned to your hotel.

    Almost all of our daily tours are operated primarily in English, in addition to a second language:  Or Spanish, or Russian, or German and or French. You can choose the preferred language of the tour when booking. You can view the tour schedule, as well as the second language schedule in order to make your best suited choice.

    When booking your tour, you will need to mark which language you’d like the tour to be in. Note that for certain tours in certain languages, the price may be higher.

    A regular group travels in a coach that comfortably transports up to 45 people. A small group travels in a minivan that seats 19 people. Other than that, the tours are identical.

    Our tours leave from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Netanya and Herzliya. We pick up our travelers from most of the hotels in these cities. If you are staying at a private residence address, please choose the closest pick up hotel to your apartment or contact our office to be advised where to wait.

    Children under 12 and students (with a valid student card) receive a 10% discount. 

    You can bring your luggage with you and we’ll store it in the trunk of the vehicle during the tour. However, please be aware that we don’t take any responsibility for any damage or loss. Recommended to advise us that you are travelling with luggage.

    Yes, but not too much. We definitely recommend bringing some local currency with you to pay for lunch and anything you may wish to; purchase along the way.

    We, at Bein Harim Tourism, understand that plans can change, so you can change dates, cancel, or change your pick up point at any time. Please make note that cancellation fees will be charged subject to cancellation policy as indicated on the tour page and confirmation email.

    It is possible to have pick ups/ drop offs in different cities. However, we do not disperse to specific drop off locations. The expenses to get from the drop off location to your final destination won't be covered by Bein Harim.
