Our two-day journey starts early in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv as we cross into Jordan via the King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge and travel through the Judean Desert toward Petra. After lunch boxes en route, we arrive at Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Entering through the Siq, we explore highlights such as the Treasury, Amphitheater, and Royal Tombs, with time to wander independently before heading to a nearby Bedouin camp.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner, Bedouin hospitality, tea, and stargazing under the desert sky. After breakfast the next morning, we visit Madaba’s famous mosaic map and Mount Nebo, with views over the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea. After lunch, we return to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv via the Allenby Bridge, arriving in the afternoon.
This day is devoted entirely to Petra, the world-renowned archaeological site set amid a dramatic red sandstone landscape. One of the New Seven Wonders of the World and the highlight of the journey,
Petra was once a major crossroads of the ancient Near East, where the Nabataean civilization prospered through trade. You will spend the morning exploring Petra with your guide, followed by lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will have free time to independently discover additional landmarks, such as the Monastery, before returning to the Bedouin camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast at the camp, check out and begin the drive toward Madaba. Upon arrival in Madaba, one of Jordan’s most ancient and culturally rich cities, enjoy time to explore its highlights and atmosphere. From there, continue driving to Mount Nebo and ascend to the scenic viewpoint, where you can take in panoramic views of the Jordan Valley and learn about the site’s historical and religious significance.
After the visit to Mount Nebo, stop for lunch at a local restaurant to experience traditional Jordanian cuisine. In the afternoon, drive toward the border in preparation for the crossing, and finally arrive at the Allenby Bridge to complete the journey.
