While there is much to see in the southern part of Israel there are also a variety of  optional tours to visit Petra in Jordan, St. Catherine's Monastery in Sinai and Cairo in Egypt, all departing from Eilat. We will be happy to assist you with hotel reservations.
Along the shore of the Dead Sea are Qumran, where many of the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, and Masada, the palace/fortress built by Herod , where the Roman army triumphed over Jewish Zealots in 73 CE. Floating in the Dead Sea, lowest place in the world, is an absolute must and the possibility of enjoying the pampering services of a spa are highly recommended.  The ancient copper mines at Timna and the aquarium in Eilat  are also worthwhile sites.
From Eilat it is possible to arrange a one day tour  to the rose city of Petra, capital of the Nabateans and oasis for the silk and spice caravans from the east. Also from Eilat, a one day tour to the Monastery of St.Catherine where Moses received the Law on mount Sinai.
The tour options to Egypt can be for one or more days.We will be happy to answer any questions you may have while planning your tour.
