A detailed description of the tour

Start the day in Nazareth, home of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Visit the Church of Annunciation where Mary was told that she would “bring forth a son and shalt call his name Jesus” (Luke 13:31) and the Church of St. Joseph, traditionally built over the carpentry workshop where Joseph and Jesus worked. If time permits stroll through the market place to the Greek-Catholic Synagogue Church and the Greek-Orthodox Church of Gabriel and the Fountain of Mary.

On the way down to the Kinneret, the Sea of Galilee, stop on the Mount of Precipitation, where Jesus “passed through the midst of them and went away” (Luke 4:16-30), and see Mounts Carmel to the west and Tabor to the east and to the south the Jezreel Valley and Mount Gilboa.

On the shores of the Sea of Galilee visit the sites where Jesus preached and performed miracles.  The Benedictine Church at Tabgha commemorates the place where Jesus fed the multitudes by multiplying the loaves and the fish. Close by, at Mensa Christi, is where Jesus prepared breakfast for the disciples.

At Capernaum see where Jesus preached in the synagogue and performed miracles and also where Peter may have lived. Enjoy St. Peter’s fish for lunch and sail in a wooden boat very similar to those used by the fishermen two thousand years ago, including Jesus' disciples.

Finally visit the picturesque Church on Mount Beatitudes where Jesus taught  the Sermon on the Mount - “Blessed are the meek…”(Mat 5) .
