Begin the day on the Kinneret, the Sea of Galilee, in a wooden boat very similar to those used by the fishermen two thousand years ago, including Jesus’ disciples.

Continue along the shores of the Kinneret in the footsteps of Jesus stopping where he preached and performed miracles.  The Benedictine Church at Tabgha commemorates the place where Jesus fed the multitudes by multiplying the loaves and the fish. Close by, at Mensa Christi is where he prepared breakfast for the disciples.

The picturesque Church on Mount Beatitudes is where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount – “Blessed are the meek…” (Mat 5)

At Capernaum see where he taught in the synagogue and performed miracles and also where Peter may have lived. After enjoying St. Peter’s fish for lunch cross the Jordan River to visit Kursi, in the land of the Gadarenes, where Jesus cast the demons of Legio into a herd of swine.

End the day at Caesarea Philippi. Here, at the foot of the Hermon mountain, at one of the sources of the Jordan river, Jesus blessed Peter and gave him the keys to the kingdom of heaven (Mat 16:18-19).

Overnight – Tiberias.
